Making Use of Existing Infrastructure:
Franklin Vehicle Group is locating Electric Re-Powering centers across the US. We want to make sure the conversion process is as seamless as possible and that our customers receive efficient services. That’s why we are working to convert as many vehicles as possible where there is already existing infrastructure in use.
The Type of Vehicle We Convert
We are in the first phase of our business. For the moment, our focus is on converting diesel or gas school buses to fully powered electric vehicles. We currently convert Type C buses, the traditional front-engine 50 to 70 passenger buses, most commonly found across the US.
We have identified several characteristics that make a vehicle suited for conversion to electric:
- Fixed daily routes
- Long downtime between rides for charging
- Vehicles with high CO2 emissions from a fossil-fuel powertrain
Charging Infrastructure
We can also provide the charging infrastructure necessary, including installation for school bus fleets and bus contractors
As Green As It Gets – Renewable Energy Solutions
We can also provide renewable energy solutions such as solar and/or wind for charging electric vehicles - either at the fleet location or other customer locations.
